A one day program designed for leadership awakening, bringing together future and current leaders to facilitate the Malaysian youth toward developing essential skills and knowledge, distinctive ethical and moral values they must have for university, career and life success in the 21st century.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM (SLS) 2015
Our theme for this year, “FOSTERING GROWTH WITH INTEGRITY AND DIVERSITY”, advances the concept of diversity of knowledge skills and career with an emphasis on the culture of integrity with regards to the crucial role our youth would have in charting the future of our nation.
1. Details of SLS 2015
Venue: Pitching Centre, Platinum Sentral - KL Sentral Date: 15 August 2015, Saturday Theme: FOSTERING GROWTH WITH INTEGRITY AND DIVERSITY Time: 9am – 6pm
Our Keynote Speaker will be YB Senator Datuk Paul Low, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia observing Integrity, Governance and Human Rights.
The morning Panel Sessions will include:
i) Industry & Talent Diversity for Growth - This session looks to explore the diverse industries that contributes to the development of Malaysia. We will look to discuss on the opportunities and challenges that lies ahead and what would it mean for the youth and how they could leverage on these opportunities in the future.
ii) National Development with a Culture of Integrity - As public sector in Malaysia has a huge impact on the quality of our day-to-day lives, this session looks forward to underline the importance of integrity in our bid to achieve a high income nation. We would look at the efforts to update standards, educate and the enforcement of the law.
iii) Enhancing Integrity of Public Governance - This topic looks to intensify on the preventive measures constructed by professional bodies in Malaysia; such as anti-corruption policy development, improvement of legal and institutional frameworks, fact-finding examination and those applicable. This is to inspire the youth towards public awareness of anti-corruption issues and vitalize anti-corruption activities.
iv) ASEAN Chairmanship: Pioneering the Region - As Malaysia steer the 47-year-old regional groupings towards an integrated and people-centred ASEAN Community, this session looks to enlighten the youth on its strategies and the future prospects of the region. More importantly, a discussion on the areas in which Malaysia, specifically the youth would have an opportunity of a prominent role in the future be it social or economic perspective.
The Breakout session will start after the lunch break led by the industry/subject matter experts, focusing on 6 subject matters that will reaffirm the role of our youth with regards to Malaysia's development.

SLS is only open for Malaysian Student Leaders studying locally and abroad.
Student Leadership Symposium is an exclusive invitation to university club/society presidents as well committee members, the respective university student council president and members and including those who was involved in projects that had made an impact to the community, industry or a social cause.
